Working on murals for the Waitakere city council, accumulation art and various fund raising projects has been a creative journey leading to her current work.

Carrie Bolton

Carrie Bolton immigrated to New Zealand with her family at a young age settling in the heart of Auckland’s diverse multicultural society. From a creative and expressive family, at an early age Carrie found a need to express herself. Initially in sketching the native New Zealand life, progressing through to photography and painting. Her early works were influenced by the Maori and Pacific island motifs, materials and imagery of cultural significance.

Carrie Bolton is passionate about capturing Otago’s heritage and character filled scenery with a focus on historic buildings and structures in Acrylic on Canvas. After traveling abroad, she realised the value of preserving these important pillars of New Zealand’s history in an artistic form.
Capturing the rustic beauty and charm of these moments of New Zealand’s past continue to inspire her creativity, giving Carrie a passion to continue searching the precious corners of New Zealand.
