An exhibition of new paintings by Mosgiel based Artist - John Toomer will feature at Wanaka Fine Art Gallery from Saturday 16th December - just in time for Christmas.
John is a well established Otago Artist who has been painting professionally for over 28 years. Re- nowned for his highly detailed oil paintings and his expressive handling of light and shadows. He has a reputation as one of New Zealand's premier artists of old buildings, buildings in landscapes and a painter of dark and stormy skies.
John has held eight highly successful solo exhibitions, five being sell-outs. He has also won numerous
Art Awards over the years and has the distinction ofwinning People's Choice A wards in various exhibitions around the South Island, no less than 15 times.
This latest exhibition of 10 new oil paintings feature subjects of the Lindis Pass, Maniototo and Cen- tral Otago areas. John says "I am delighted to be given the opportunity to exhibit a number of works at one time, normally I am only able to exhibit one or two works at a time due to commission and gallery commitments so in this show I have tried to offer a good cross section of subjects to show locals and holiday-makers the work I am known for".
John’s exhibition will run from Saturday 16th December till Sunday 24th December. The gallery is open 10:30 am till 4:30 pm daily.
