After leaving the classroom, she finally has the luxury of time to paint, so her painting career is only just truly beginning. Her daily walks and climbs take her above the Alexandra Basin. From here she can see Leaning Rock, Kopuwai, The Hawkduns and the winding passage of the Clutha River.
These striations and landscape layers provide the material for her work. Textural elements reference what lies beneath us.
"I am enjoying playing with surface textures and foils to add interest. I tend to use the earth and cool palettes which dominate our landscape."
